In order to improve the business cooperation between Indonesia and Mozambique, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) Suryo Bambang Sulisto and his entourage consisting of Head of African Compartment Mintarjo Halim and Head of Foreign Relations Rahardjo Jamtomo paid a working visit to Mozambique on October 6, 2015. One o f the agenda of meeting was to increase the business multilateral cooperation as discussed with Prime Minister of Mozambique Carlos Agostinho do Rosário.
Also attended the meeting was Kadin entourage together with Ambassador to Mozambique Harbangan Napitupulu. At the request of the Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) EMP Buzi as represented by Rury W Widjaja was asked to participate in the meeting.
In the meeting EMP Buzi, which was owned by Bakrie Group, is considered as a good example of company that was created based on cooperation between Indonesia and Mozambique in terms of exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in the country.
EMP Buzi was expected to become a good example for other Indonesian companies to invest in Mozambique in various sectors. As a developing country with 11 provinces Mozambique still offers plenty of investment opportunities, not only in the oil and gas sector but also in the sectors of coal, agriculture, plantations and others.
After a closed-door meeting with the Prime Minister of Mozambique, the group of Kadin visited the operational office of Buzi in Maputo. On that occasion Chairman of Kadin Suryo Bambang Sulisto said that he had ever become a Commissioner of Bumi Resources.
On previous occasions EMP Buzi also received a visit of Africa Director of Indonesia Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sularso, who was accompanied by Ambassador to Mozambique on 18 September 2015. Ministry of Foreign Affairs said EMP Buzi is a strategic company and will represent Indonesia in term of real cooperation between Indonesian government and the government of Mozambique. (*)
