Business Strategy

The primary business strategy of EMP is to:

  • Develop and consolidate the position as a major gas producer in East Java by developing onshore and offshore fields as well as proactively expanding the gas market breadth.
  • Capitalise on lack of gas supplies in Java and Sumatra in the next five years through optimising market and pricing opportunities
  • Maintain successful operations of the Malacca Straits oil fields through the further application of modern methods and technology
  • Develop already discovered and new oil fields in the Malacca Straits PSC
  • Implement the MOU with state-owned Gas company Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) in respect of gas supply from these discoveries.
  • Establish new gas markets (such as RAPP, Indah Kiat, IPP and PLN) in Riau Province monetizing the Malacca straits’s gas reserves
  • Selectively acquire oil and gas blocks in Indonesia which broadly fit into our oil and gas development strategy.
